Insurance, Superbills & Payment FAQ

Insurance is built around covering illness, not optimizing your health. Our model is built around giving you transparent pricing, the right treatment, and no delays — with a superbill available if you’d like to attempt reimbursement, and HSA/FSA as a dependable alternative.

Why don’t you bill insurance directly?

We operate on a direct-pay model, which means one transparent price for the care you actually need — not what an insurance formulary decides to approve. This lets us:

  • Recommend the treatment that’s right for you, not the cheapest one your plan will cover
  • Skip prior authorizations, step-therapy requirements, and surprise bills
  • Keep visits focused on your goals instead of insurance paperwork
  • Give you clear, upfront pricing every time

This fits our philosophy: wellness requires active engagement across all dimensions of health, backed by clear, measurable outcomes — not confusing fads or red tape.

Can I still use my insurance somehow?

In some cases, yes. We can provide a superbill — an itemized receipt with the procedure and diagnosis codes your insurance company needs — that you can submit yourself for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Important: A superbill is not a guarantee of payment. Reimbursement depends entirely on your specific plan and its out-of-network benefits.

What typically is not reimbursable, even with a superbill?
  • Cosmetic injectables (neurotoxins, dermal fillers, collagen stimulators)
  • Laser and skin-tightening treatments
  • Esthetician services (facials, waxing, lash/brow services)
  • Spray tanning
  • Weight-loss treatment, unless tied to a covered diagnosis under your specific plan
  • Peptide therapy (not FDA-approved for most wellness indications)
  • Direct Primary Care membership fees (treated as a membership, not a billable visit)
What sometimes can be reimbursed with a superbill?
  • Hormone replacement therapy, when medically necessary and appropriately coded
  • Select visits tied to a covered diagnosis (plan-dependent)

We’re happy to issue a superbill for any service — we just want to set accurate expectations so there are no surprises.

What about HSA or FSA funds?

This is often the most reliable payment option for our services. Many of our treatments — including medically necessary hormone therapy and select wellness or skin treatments — may qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement, even when traditional insurance won’t cover them.

We recommend checking with your HSA/FSA administrator on eligibility for your specific treatment plan.
